The Chakras are part of a larger system of medicine called Ayurveda, a 5,000 year old science from India. Vanessa studied under Dr. Jayrajan Kodikaneth, an Indian doctor from Kerala India and also Nickole Thornton Gonzales, a seattle local studying under Dr. Vasant Lad, an Indian doctor, teacher, and founder of the Ayurvedic Institude in New Mexico. Ayurveda has been brought to the West with specific permission to spread the teachings and healings available from Indian Seers as recorded in the Vedas, or ancient sacred texts. As a 4th generation immigrant from Greece, Vanessa is now studying how the ancient system of Greek medicine, Humorism, compares with the tridoshic theories of Ayurveda.
